These terms govern your use of the RuonID platform operated by RuonLabs ("we", "us"), including the mobile app, API, and developer SDK.
Eligibility: You must possess a valid government-issued passport to use RuonID.
Your data: Your identity data is stored encrypted on your device. You control when and with whom it is shared. Each sharing event requires your explicit biometric-authenticated approval.
Accuracy: You must provide genuine identity documents. Attempting to verify with fraudulent documents is prohibited.
Device security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including keeping biometric authentication enabled.
Registration: To use the paid identity tier, you must register, provide accurate company information, and accept these terms.
Free tier: The free sybil-resistance tier is available without registration. By using it, you accept these terms.
API keys: You are responsible for securing your API key and private key. Do not share them or commit them to public repositories. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from compromised credentials.
Acceptable use: You may not use the RuonID API to:
Data handling: You must handle any identity data you receive in compliance with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, etc.). You must delete identity data when it is no longer needed for the stated purpose.
Paid-tier developers receive a free quota of verifications. After the free quota is exhausted, usage is billed per verification via Stripe. Prices are as listed at the time of subscription. We may change pricing with 30 days notice.
You can manage your subscription and view usage through the Stripe customer portal.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice. We are not liable for downtime, data loss due to device failure, or third-party service outages (AWS, Apple, Google).
The RuonID SDK is licensed under the MIT License. The RuonID mobile app and server are proprietary. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the mobile app or server.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RuonLabs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Developer account deletion can be requested via email.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated 30 days in advance via email (for registered developers) or through the app (for users). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) under its Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in English by a single arbitrator. The seat of arbitration will be determined by the arbitrator. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
